Fall Walk – The New England Chapter

The New England Chapter members participated in their annual Fall walk on October 19th, which was well-organized by Prabhakar Hegde. Here are the details of the event by him:

Fall walk has become a tradition in our neighborhood in New England. The group members look forward to this event since it is a fun way to connect with nature and each other on a crisp colorful New England morning.

This year we hiked the trails of Minuteman National Park in Lexington, MA from 10AM – 12AM. When we arrived at the park, the parking lots were closed but resilient Havyaka’s found parking on the side of the roads and braved the trails.

The fall colors were beautiful. Plenty of pictures were taken. LG Hegde, taught one of our youngsters Abhay how to use a SLR camera properly. Ladies were thrilled to take varied pictures – the Gentlemen showed some enthusiasm and participated in a first ever Havyaka men’s reel choreographed and directed by fellow ladies.

Everyone had a great time and connected well with each other enjoying the bountiful colors offered by mother nature. We are looking forward to our next year’s fall walk already.

Chitra Karki, gracefully offered all the brave hikers lunch at her residence and a few of us were able to take advantage of scrumptious lunch after a busy morning hike.
