Last weekend, on October 25, the DC Havyaka community celebrated Deepavali at the home of Prathibha and Ramakrishna.
The celebration began with evening snacks, tea, and coffee, followed by a chapter meeting, Lakshmi Pooja, fireworks, creative activities, and as always, delicious homemade food.
This year, our young BrahmacharisVibhava, Gaurav, and Shreshta performed the Shodashopachara Pooja under the guidance of Ramakrishna Bhatta. They created a truly divine atmosphere by chanting Sri Lakshmi Ashtottara Shatanamavali, Srisuktha, and Mantra Pushpa. (These children are learning mantras from Guru Vishwanatha Anna, along with other Havyaka kids.) Agastya also sang a beautiful bhajan during the pooja. Ramakrishna’s thoughtful idea of having the pooja performed by the kids was deeply appreciated and set a wonderful new tradition.
Another highlight was the creative activity conducted by Prathibha and Aparna, which was both enjoyable and therapeutic for the ladies.
Overall, it was a memorable celebration from start to finish.
