The Midwest Havyakas came together on September 6, 2025 to joyfully celebrate the birthday of our beloved Lord Ganapathi (Gappathi) with devotion, enthusiasm, and community spirit.
The celebration was graciously hosted at the residence of Niyata and Harsha Bhat, along with their son Ashrit, who warmly welcomed everyone.
The morning began with a traditional Ganesha Pooje, which included Purusha Sukta Abhisheka, the chanting of Ganesha and Lalita Ashtottaras, and uplifting bhajans led by our members. Following the rituals, participants enjoyed a hearty and delicious bharjari habbadoota, lovingly prepared and served by our dedicated volunteers.
After lunch, the festivities continued with engaging cultural programs. Our youngsters delighted the audience with a Ganesha story reading and skit, along with soulful solo and group song performances. The musical presentations were enriched by talented accompaniment on the Harmonium, Mrudangam, and Tabla, showcasing the artistic spirit of our community.
The day concluded with a business meeting, where Vijaya Bhat from the HAA Membership Committee shared updates, expressed gratitude to Midwest members for supporting HAA, and encouraged wider participation. HAA President Murali Kaje then addressed the gathering, outlining exciting plans for the upcoming 21st Biennial HAA Convention.
It was a day filled with devotion, culture, and fellowship—one that truly reflected the essence of our community.
Here are some wonderful moments captured from the celebration!
