Ganesha Chaturthi 2026: Detroit Chapter

Detroit Havyaka chapter celebrated ಚೌತಿ festival together on 19th Sep evening at Troy MI.
15 families joined hands to have a gala celebrations.
Key Highlights:
- 6-7pm: Coffee, snacks, Harate
- 7-8pm cultural activities starting with chanting of Ganesha Atharva Sheersha, followed by Ganesha sthuthi, shloka pathana.
- Mrs Suvarna Bhat shared the new initiatives (Starting in October) by HAA regarding Havyaka Samskara and other rituals in our community. She encouraged many to participate to know more about our culture.
- A new young member (Harsha Keladi Ganapathi) joined our group. Thanks to Chicago Sammelana he came to know our chapter (recently moved from Connecticut).
- We selected New VP of the chapter for CY27-28. It is Rajarama Puranika from Kolluru. Rajaram puranika and his wife Bhavan Adiga have been active members of Detroit chapter from many years and have graciously volunteered to take the responsibilities.
- We ended the celebration with another Gala Dinner, thanks to all participating families.
